I can confirm that creating/editing (in the same directory as the Steam executable) with the following lines works, as long as you've set Steam to remember your password (thanks Dark Anime): I am neither a banned steam member, nor do I know the poster, but I can confirm that the 2 edits he is suggesting are not in any way dangerous to you, your computer or your livelihood, nor is the simple copy and replace batch file he posted.i can confirm that this works..
just create a and put: Boot Strapper Inhibit All=enable Force Offline Mode=enable but you need to have checked: remember my password first.
then this works great :) thnx for the info mate ^_^ when it closes.
well, i got an activated game on steam (hitman absolution) and in order to play now i have to download the whole game from steam which is a pain as its downloading in 50-60 kbps.
i have a facility of local peering in torrent clients so i downloaded the skidrow version of this game and installed without crack. If steam downloads are going slow you can always go into the download settings and switch servers to see if that helps.
You've essentially pirated a game that you bought..somewhat counterproductive but to answer your question you can't link a pirated version of a game to steam.
I recently find myself needing to start Steam in offline mode rather frequently (my wife is hogging my account to play Plants Vs.
Zombies, and most of what I play doesn't really need to be online).
I was wondering if there is some way to launch Steam in offline mode without first logging in (and selecting it from the menu), since that usually beats the purpose.
While I know that killing my network connection before launching Steam is an option, I am looking for a more "civilized" way, such as a command line switch or something of the sort.
Alternatively you can use some script to change those values for you. Count = 1 Then str Text = Replace(str Text, "Remember Password", "Wants Offline Mode"" ""1"" ""Skip Offline Mode Warning"" ""1"" ""Remember Password") mode = WScript.
To automate this on Windows machines, save Const For Reading = 1 Const For Writing = 2 Set obj FSO = Create Object("Scripting. Open Text File("config\loginusers.vdf", For Reading) Do Until obj File. Read Line If In Str(str Line, "Wants Offline Mode") = 0 And In Str(str Line, "Skip Offline Mode Warning") = 0 Then str Text = str Text & str Line & vb Cr Lf End If Loop obj File. Arguments(0) Else str Text = Replace(str Text, "Remember Password", "Wants Offline Mode"" ""0"" ""Skip Offline Mode Warning"" ""0"" ""Remember Password") mode = "online" End If Set obj File = obj FSO. Shell") If (mode = "offline") Or (mode = "online") Then obj Shell. Run("steam://rungameid/" & mode) End If It's worth noting that the Skip Offline Mode Warning setting is reset each time Steam runs.
