If Trolldar links posts by a posters IP address, wouldn't someone have the same IP address no matter what browser they use be it IE or Firefox any other? Trolldar can't identify you more specifically than as being a member of the network so trolldar won't kick in. The posts of rabid fangurls and PR shills demanding stone cold proof for someone's claim and the "haha, you just cost someone his or her job for being too specific!
" coments turned off some gossip sharing posters, too.[quote]Vince Vaughan: Funny and down-to-earth. Immediate causes guys to say, "I want him as a best friend!

But I realize that's a pain to go through just to share some gossip.
You can also just use a different browser for posts you want to make without being trackable, R12 and R9. Cookies are the message a site sends to your computer, then they live in a folder as part of the particular browser you were using when you initiated the communication with the site.
That way you can keep your thread tracker intact on your main browser. Change browsers or delete cookies, and trolldar loses track of you. I got banned from freerepublic (big loss), and no amount of deleting cookies gets me back on. We get threads about what to name a kitten and spambots spouting anti-gay and anti-Obama rhetoric. All that's out there you can find on Blind Gossip (which is nothing but a collection of Blind Items from other blogs and magazine columns).
Just clear the cookies from your alternate browser when you're done, and viola! I'm a computer idiot so forgive me R14 if this is a stupid question. It is what people have at work often, and posting from work let's you hide in the bushes so to speak. I suspect that datalounge and other sites will use the I. I am not a computer expert, so corrections expected and accepted graciously. In the olden days of DL, this thread would have gone on for pages with all kinds of dirt, real or not - that was what made DL fun. I don't think troll-dar necessarily killed gossip at Datalounge (allthough I do get that these particular posters would prefer that you couldn't create a personal profile of them based on other posts they make on this board).
In the small town I grew up in the Maritimes (New Brunswick, Canada), a friend of mine worked on a movie set as a gopher in the late 90s (? The star of the movie was Daniel Baldwin (low-budget straight-to-video deal).
By then Baldwin was telling journalists he had gone through recovery and no longer drank or did drugs and was espousing a vegetarian, healthy life-style.Baldwin, however, was keeping the set waiting while he was recovering from hangovers he had received from his party-hardy late nights in the town's bars, had coke dealers visiting him at all hours, and kept my friend busy getting his breakfast-lunch-dinner Big Macs from Mc Donalds. He also fucked our mayor (a woman who was not the most attractive person). Well trolldar works based on your ip address so if anyone wants to disassociate themselves from other comments made on other threads, they can use a VPN which changes the ip, or go on some free starbux wireless or something. The Midas Touch - Everything he touches turns to mufflers. Sadly, I have no set gossip.[quote]In the olden days of DL, this thread would have gone on for pages with all kinds of dirt, real or not This same thread did go for pages...than a month ago when the subject was already visited. So it's not an issue of olden days, it's one of repetition.Trolldar has next to eliminated my posting of actual gossip, and I've said as much over the years, but no one cares.
